Joe Hudson is the President of The Learning E.D.G.E. Inc.  He has more than 25 years of sales, marketing, training & development, and management consulting experience.  Joe spent 18 years in several positions at the Johnson Wax Company. These positions included: Recruiting Manager Consumer Sales, Director Human Resources Field- Consumer and Service Products, Manpower Training Manager Consumer Products, Regional Sales Manager South Texas, Sales Development Manager-Home Care, Overseas Consultant for the Americas', and Director of Training and Development. Joe retired from Johnson Wax in June of 1991 and began a new career in the Consulting business.

      His academic credentials include a Bachelors & Masters of Education for the University of Central Oklahoma as well as a lifetime teaching certificate in the state of Texas.  In July of 1991, Joe was named Director of the Training and Development group for a large consulting firm with offices in Chicago, Connecticut, and Los Angeles. Joe spent the next two years designing, developing and delivering programs in the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service areas for Dechert-Hampe & Company. Joe's programs focused primarily on developing key customer’s middle and upper management leadership and teamwork capabilities to meet the new demands of the changing face of management.

      He developed programs and workshops for several of the Fortune 500 companies in the consumer package goods and service industries. These companies included:  Ameritech Mobile, Dial Corp, Nabisco, Coca-Cola Foods, Mars Incorporated, Reynolds Metals, Kraft USA, Ralston Purina, Pillsbury and Bristol Myers Squibb to name a few.  

    He opened his own consulting firm, on September 28, 1993, The Learning E.D.G.E.. The focus of his company has been to design, develop and deliver custom training programs which aid sales, marketing and customer service departments to work more effectively as continuous improvement teams and to build the leaders of tomorrow, today.  Joe has facilitated and custom designed programs in the team building and leadership area for companies like:   James River, Bristol-Myers Squibb, The Dial Corp, Dell Computer, Entertainment Marketing, Papermate, Qualcomm, Braun, Pfizer, Gadzooks, Nokia, Capital One, Aetna, Aether Systems, US Brick, Verizon, Sprint, G.E.Medical, American Airlines, Lennox, ABC Supply, Oxy Chemical, Gillette, Crossmark, KFC, Sabre, Johnsonville Foods, Bayer Corporation, Service Corporation International, Melting Pot and Zales to name a few.

      Joe has been a featured speaker at American Society for Training and Development, National Food Brokers Association, International Customer Service Convention-3 times, Customer Service Sales & Marketing Group, National Association of Chain Drugs Marketplace, Donnelley Marketing National Meeting, & Newell Rubber Maid National Customer Service Meeting.

      He has had articles published on Human Resource Management, Team Building and Sales Training in such magazines as Personnel Journal, National Food Brokers Quarterly, U.S. Distribution Journal, Training Magazine and the Customer Service Journal.   Joe has authored three books that are published independently on mentoring, planning & organizing and leadership & team building.  The books are titled:  Mentoring 2000, Home Office 2000 and The Seven C’s of Christian Leadership.   In addition to being founder and president of The Learning E.D.G.E. Inc., he is a faculty member at the University of Texas at Dallas school of Management, Professional Development where he teaches in their leadership and middle management programs.
